1. What Deadline Detective does

Deadline Detective is a Chrome browser extension that reads the visible text content of web pages you visit and uses pattern-matching logic (regular expressions) to identify dates, deadlines, and time-bound language. Detected items are displayed in a sidebar within your browser.

All text processing occurs entirely within your browser using local JavaScript. No text, metadata, or any other information is transmitted to AIBridges servers or any third-party service.

2. Data we collect

We collect no data.

Deadline Detective does not collect, store, transmit, or process:

• The text of any web pages you visit
• URLs or browsing history
• Names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
• Usage patterns, click events, or analytics
• Any information about the detected deadlines

The extension does not have a backend server. There is no account system, no login, and no cloud storage.

3. Local storage

Deadline Detective may use your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) solely to save your UI preferences — for example, whether the sidebar is expanded or collapsed. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing Chrome's extension storage.

4. Permissions

Deadline Detective requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — to read the text content of the current tab when you activate the extension
• storage — to save your sidebar preferences locally
• sidePanel — to display the deadline results in Chrome's sidebar

These permissions are the minimum required for the extension to function. They do not grant access to your browsing history, passwords, or any data on other tabs.

5. Third-party services

Deadline Detective does not integrate with, communicate with, or share data with any third-party service, analytics platform, or advertising network. There are no embedded tracking scripts.

6. Children's privacy

Deadline Detective is a professional productivity tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Because we collect no data from anyone, this concern does not apply in practice.

7. Changes to this policy

If we ever update this privacy policy in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and note the change in the Chrome Web Store listing. Your continued use of the extension constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
