Adam's progress

Eve's voice can start the moment. She cannot take your turn in it, and your turn is where most of the learning actually happens.

• One activity is enough. Stop while it is still fun, and carry one word into play, a meal, a walk, or bath time.
• Take the turn back. If Adam points, moves, or says something, answer him and add a few words. That back-and-forth is the learning moment the screen cannot provide.
• About an hour a day, together. The AAP recommends no more than one hour of high-quality media a day for ages 2-5, used together. Keep meals, bedrooms and bedtime screen-free.
• What the flower means. The flower and sticker are a warm “you did it”, not a measure of intelligence. This page should help you notice a word to revisit and a conversation to start — not make you feel that more minutes or more finished games mean more brain growth.
